Loretta Ann Christian, of Palestine, Texas, affectionately known as “Noni”, left this world on Saturday, the 9th day of December 2023, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was born in Palestine, Texas, on the 27th day of February 1954, to parents Sherman Britt and Gladys Bolden. Noni was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her.
Noni's interests were as varied as they were joyful. She was known as the "best Noni ever," a title she earned every day with her boundless love and energy. Motorcycles were a passion of hers, and she found great pleasure in hitting the open road, especially when accompanied by her beloved husband. Their spur-of-the-moment trips were the stuff of legend, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
As a member of the Patriot Guard Riders of East Texas and a Christian motorcycle club, Noni combined her love for motorcycles with her deep sense of patriotism and faith. Her presence in these communities was marked by her generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to the values she held dear. For years, Noni dedicated herself to the Westwood Independent School District, where her passion for kids shone brightly.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Noni will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and generosity. Her smile could light up the room, and her laughter was infectious. She approached life with an open heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement.
She joined her parents Sherman and Gladys Britt, and brother-in-law, Bill Wardlaw, in Heaven.
Noni's life was a testament to the love she had for her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Gary Don Christian, and a nurturing mother to her children, Asonya Christian, Gary Don Christian, Jr. and his wife Angie. Her nine grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Noni's siblings, Bobby Britt and his wife Dana, Carol Wardlaw, and Ronald Britt and his wife Lou, will remember her as the glue that held the family together. Her numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members will miss her deeply.
A memorial service to celebrate Noni’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 22nd day of December 2023, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with David Malone officiating the service.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
