Lucia (Marrero) Bradshaw

Lucia Bradshaw, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on the 4th day of May 2026, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew her. She was born on the 2nd day of March 1953, in Caibarien, Cuba, to parents Ramon R. Marrero and Berta E. Rojas. 

In Brooklyn, New York, Lucia spent her formative years where she built her earliest memories. As a young adult, she moved to Pasadena, Maryland, a transition that sparked a lifetime of adventure and connection. It was in Pasadena that Lucia truly blossomed, forming lasting friendships that spanned decades and building a life filled with laughter, energy, and community. She was a natural friend to many, known for her magnetic personality and loyalty.

She was a woman of deep character, shaped by her beginnings and by the many responsibilities she embraced with grace. From a young age, she was the backbone of her family, someone others could depend on in times of need. Her steady presence, strong will, and determined nature became defining qualities that guided her through life. Lucia also had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, dogs, and birds.

Lucia is preceded in death by her parents Ramon and Berta Marrero; siblings, Teresa Forester, Celia Rulle, Frank Marrero, Olga Marrero, and Carlos Marrero.

She is survived by her son Christian Jimenez; brothers, Ray, Armando, Jorge, and Carlos Marrero, as well as her grandchildren, Brenna, Allyssa, and Taliah, who brought her great pride and happiness. Her role within the family was one of support, encouragement, and unwavering love.
