David Marcus Holder, age 70, of Palestine, Texas was called home on Sunday, the 8th day of February 2026. He was born on the 4th day of December 1955, in Dallas, Texas to parents David Max Holder and Alma Arlene Field Holder. Marcus's life was marked by his intelligence, wisdom, and courageous spirit, which left an indelible impact on all who knew him.

Marcus's love for life was evident in his diverse interests and hobbies. He was an avid outdoorsman who found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. Whether it was a leisurely motorcycle ride or a quiet afternoon tending to his beloved animals. His passion for college football, particularly his unwavering support for the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys, was a source of great excitement he shared with his family and friends.

Above all, Marcus's dogs were not just pets but cherished members of his family. His love for animals extended to all creatures, with a special fondness for horses. He was a lifelong learner, always seeking knowledge and understanding in every aspect of life.

He is preceded in death by his parents David and Arlene Holder.

Marcus leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughter, Krysten Thomas, and husband Josh; son, Darrell Harris, and companion Caitlin Ursino; brothers, Wade Holder and wife Janet, Mike Holder and wife Lynda; and stepfather, Earl Jones. Marcus's joy was multiplied by his four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will carry forward his spirit of adventure and love of life.

The family will honor Marcus’s wishes to be cremated with services at a later date.
