Margaret Louise Brown, age 81, of Palestine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, the 5th day of January 2022. She was born in Grapeland, Texas, on the 27th day of April 1940 to parents Jack Richards and Essie Louise Oliver Richards.
Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Houston County where she graduated from Grapeland High School in 1958. She was a hard worker and while employed for Murry Corporation and Comet School Supplies, she formed many friendships that lasted a lifetime. Mrs. Brown was a loving wife, aunt, and friend. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed playing board games with her family. Mrs. Brown was a devout Christian and member of Sunset Christian Church in Grapeland.
Mrs. Brown joins in Heaven her parents Jack and Essie Richards, husband of 59 years Fred Arthur Brown, brother “Little” Jack Richards, nephew Randy Richards, and special cousin Norma Richards Beasley.
Mrs. Brown will be greatly missed and always remembered by her sisters-in-law, Bessie Hamby of Palestine, Texas, and Eleanor Brown of El Paso, Texas; brother-in-law, Don Brown and wife Marcia of Palestine, Texas; nieces, Brenda Bing and husband Joe of Palestine, Texas, Sheila Dennard and husband Robert of Whitehouse, Texas, Lyndoll Mock and husband Thomas of Harleton, Texas, Tina Yancey and husband David of Tyler, Texas; and special cousin, Elaine Brimberry Cutler of Waco, Texas. Mrs. Brown is also survived by many great and great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate Margaret Brown’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, the 9th day of January 2022 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. Bro. Jack Smith will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
Friends are invited to visit with the family during a reception in the Rhone Reflection Room one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Bing, Thomas Mock, David Yancey, Robert Dennard, Chris Mock, and Brandon Bing.
