Maria Leonor Rosas, age 72, of Palestine, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, the 1st day of March 2021, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born on the 10th of January 1949, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to parents Atilano Loera and Torivia Rangel.
Mrs. Rosas lived her life to serve others. She was one who never met a stranger and always made sure she was well dressed when leaving the house. Mrs. Rosas loved her family and grandchildren with all her heart and always enjoyed the time they spent together. Mrs. Rosas knew the importance of a strong family unit and made family gatherings priority. She would cook a large meal every Sunday for the whole family to come together and spend time with one another. Her passions included cooking, crocheting, and gardening. Mrs. Rosas loving spirit will always be felt among her family who is left behind.
Mrs. Rosas is preceded in death by her parents Atilano and Torivia Loera; sister, Lucina Rosas; and brother, Bartolo Loera.
Mrs. Rosas leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Jose Rosas; daughters, Becky Esparza and husband Tomas of Elkhart, Rachel Elizondo and husband Rick of Kemp, Rosie Servin and husband Eugenio of Jacksonville, Ruby Escalante and husband Mario of Palestine; sons, Johnny Rosas and wife Beatriz of Palestine, Raymond Rosas of Palestine, Frank Rosas and wife Alysia of Lewisville and Rudy Rosas of Palestine. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Devan, Lauren, Kathryn, Yaneli, Karen, Damian, Ivan, Estevan, John, Ricky, Rien, Raymond, Sebastian, Ysabella, Ylliana, Ariana, Mario; and great-grandchildren, Devan and Madiline.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from half past five o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening, on Friday, where a Recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at half past five o’clock, led by Father Cristian Zelaya, followed by eulogies at six o’clock, then fellowship.
A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Maria Rosas’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 6th day of March 2021, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Father Cristian Zelaya officiating. Interment will immediately follow, via escorted cortege, at Roselawn Park.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Tomas Esparza, Rick Elizondo, Eugenio Servin, Mario Escalante, Johnny Rosas, Frank Rosas, Rudy Rosas, Raymond Rosas, and Devan Esparza.
