Marlin Earl Cretsinger, age 63, of Elkhart, passed away to his eternal home in Heaven on Saturday, the 25th day of September 2021. Mr. Cretsinger was born in El Paso, Texas, on the 24th day of January 1958, to parents Billy Earl Cretsinger and Virginia Stewart Cretsinger.
Mr. Cretsinger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He became a Christian many years ago and always remained faithful until his last days before the Lord called him home. He was a witty, comical, hardworking man who always put his family first in his life. He volunteered for the Westside Volunteer Fire Department since 1978. He touched many lives during that time and developed friendships that he truly treasured. Mr. Cretsinger was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and relishing in the beautiful countryside that the Lord created.
Mr. Cretsinger left an impression that will never be forgotten by his loving wife Sandy Huddleston Cretsinger; sons, Marcus Cretsinger and wife Mindy of Palestine, Justin Cretsinger, and Shane Cretsinger, both of Palestine; brother, Phillip Cretsinger and wife Darla of Palestine; grandchildren, Cody, Kendal, Lacie, Calli, Kadye, Eli, Jaisley, and Ryder. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Diane Douglas, a host of family, and many friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 30th day of September 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Cretsinger’s life are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 1st day of October 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Michael Lumpkins officiating. Interment will follow in Broyles Chapel Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Marcus Cretsinger, Justin Cretsinger, Shane Cretsinger, Cody Parker, Jerrod Cretsinger, and Micah Betterton. Honorary pallbearers will be James Price, his fishing buddies, and the Westside Volunteer Fire Department.
