Martha Lynn Montgomery, of Groveton, Texas, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, the 5th day of June 2024, at the age of 72 in Groveton, Texas. Born on the 19th day of December 1951, in Crockett, Texas, to parents Gene Huff and Mary Lou Baker, Mrs. Montgomery lived a life marked by love, kindness, and selfless dedication to those around her.
For nearly three decades, Martha opened her heart and her home to the community by operating a beloved daycare. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless children and families, earning her the endearing title of "Aunt Martha." Her commitment to the well-being of children extended beyond her professional life as she was an active and devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Grapeland, where she participated in various children's programs and community events.
Mrs. Montgomery's love for children was paralleled only by her adoration for her grandchildren, with whom she cherished spending time. She created a world of joy and laughter for them, and her legacy of love will continue to flourish in their hearts.
Those who knew Mrs. Montgomery were blessed by her loving and kind nature. She was a woman who put others before herself, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting embrace. Her selfless attitude was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Martha Montgomery, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Her memory will be treasured forever by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched including her daughters, Marla Reeves, of Crockett, Texas, and Leslie Moore and husband Todd, of Groveton, Texas; grandchildren, Cash Moore, Lauren Moore, Shelby Reeves, Seth Reeves, along with her great-grandchildren, Chandler Purvis, Dawson Purvis, and Dallen Purvis.
