Mary (Corpus) Rodriguez

Dominga Mary Rodriguez, age 76, of Palestine, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, the 8th day of October 2021.  Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Fentress, Texas on the 6th day of October 1945, to parents Juan Corpus and Eulalia Dominga Flores.

Mrs. Rodriguez was strong in her faith and devoted her life to the Lord.  She truly believed what the Bible says about loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. She was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center and lived her life as a Godly example.  She loved her family immensely and always enjoyed the times they gathered and made wonderful, lifelong memories. Playing Bingo was another activity that Mrs. Rodriguez enjoyed.  Mrs. Rodriguez’s absence leaves a void in the hearts of her family, but her legacy will live on forever.      

Mrs. Rodriguez is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Eulalia Corpus; husband, Bartolo Rodriguez; sister, Rachel Vega; and brother, Maniel Corpus.

Mrs. Rodriguez leaves behind a large, loving family including her daughters, Angela Jimenez and husband Martin, Josephine Faniel, Monica Rodriguez, Rebecca Pineda and husband Joe, Rachel Loya and husband Jorge, and Amber Rodriguez; sons, John David Rodriguez and wife Yolanda, Bartolo Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Patty, Robert Joe Rodriguez and wife Amber; sisters, Pila Gonzales, Lupe Moreno and husband Chano; brothers, Ted Corpus and wife Francis, Juan Corpus and wife Doris, Jose Corpus and wife Felipa.  Mrs. Rodriguez is also survived by 31 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 15th day of October 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.

Funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Rodriguez’s life are to be conducted at nine o’clock in the morning on Saturday the 16th day of October 2021 at Cornerstone Worship Center in Palestine with Pastor David Malone officiating. 

Mrs. Rodriguez will be laid to rest at half past three o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 16th day of October 2021, at Community Cemetery in Luling, Texas. 

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mrs. Rodriguez’s sons and grandsons, John Rodriguez, Bartolo Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, J.J. Rodriguez, B.J. Rodriguez, and John Rodriguez.  Honorary pallbearers are Mrs. Rodriguez’s daughters, Angela Jimenez, Josephine Faniel, Monica Rodriguez, Rebecca Pineda, Rachel Loya, and Amber Rodriguez.
