Pierceson Maurice Costlow, of Bois D’Arc, Texas, left this world on Wednesday, the 22nd day of December 2021 to join the angels singing. Mr. Costlow, better known as “Maurice”, “Pawpaw”, or “Rink”, passed away at Palestine Regional Medical Center at the age of 76. He was born on the 9th day of November 1945, in Athens, Texas, to parents Ray E. Costlow and Ovie Nell Pierce.
When Maurice was 19, he met the love of his life Judy and they journeyed through life together for 56 years. He is the 3rd of seven siblings and planted his roots on the family farm in Bois D’Arc. He is remembered as a hard-working husband and father. He made a living with his hands and there was not a thing he could not fix. He taught many how to hunt, fish, and even cheat playing Rummy and 42. In his last years he was given great joy when getting to play with Paxton and Boston, two of his great-grandchildren.
Maurice had a way of making everyone feel welcome and wiped away many tears and placed a thousand smiles. Maurice loved music and playing the guitar and singing at late night jam sessions with his family. He leaves behind a music legacy that will live on in his kids, and grandkids.
Maurice joins in Heaven his parents, Ray and Ovie Costlow, and nephews, Brandon Costlow and Keith Newburn.
Maurice will live on in the lives of his wife Judy Costlow of 56 years; four children, Steve Costlow and wife Carol, Todd Costlow, Brandy Watson and husband Karl, and Mandy Seale; five sisters, Ovie Jean Lambright, Nell Waldon, Liz Missildine, Penny Costlow, Daphy Costlow; and one brother, Orre Costlow. Maurice is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren Costlow, Alli Bullard, Ashlyn Evans, Colby Seale, Carly Seale, and Tiffany Brown; ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
