Maxine Hodge, age 80, of Palestine, passed peacefully from this life to her eternity in Heaven on Wednesday, the 7th day of April 2021. She was born in Onalaska, Texas on the 5th day of January 1941 to parents Mack and Aletha Wheeler. She married the love of her life, George Hodge, in 1961, and their marriage was blessed with three loving children. Maxine was a people-person and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed the simple things in life and took pride in her work, home, and her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Hodge, Sr.; son, George Hodge, Jr.; parents, Mack and Aletha Wheeler; and sisters, Melba Hodge and Marjoria Tipton.
Maxine is survived by her daughter Charlotte Moser and husband John of Palestine; son, Douglas Hodge and wife Talia of Palestine; grandchildren, Rachel Williams and husband Damien, Travis Moser and wife Julie, Autumn Baublet, and Emily Hodge; great-grandchildren, Luke Williams, Layla Williams, Cash Connor, Rush Moser, Jett Moser and Carson Moser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family and share memories of Maxine from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Saturday, the 10th day of April 2021 in the Parlor and Reflection Room of Rhone Funeral Home.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Maxine Hodge is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Sunday, the 11th day of April 2021 at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas with Maxine’s niece, Sammie Camacho, officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Travis Moser, Luke Williams, Damien Williams, Benny Hodge, Mike Camacho, and Bobby Halford. Honored to serve as an honorary pallbearer is John Moser.
