Melba Faye (Hooper) Reeves

Melba Faye Reeves, age 81, of Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, the 26th day of September 2021.  Mrs. Reeves was born in Elsa, Texas on the 7th day of June 1940, to parents Willis Hooper and Lois Fay Beaird.

Mrs. Reeves was a loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in raising her family.  She genuinely loved people and would always check in on family and friends to make sure they were doing well.  She never missed an opportunity to give someone a hug and let them know that she cared.  When her husband Cush was alive, she enjoyed traveling and seeing new sites.  Mrs. Reeves was a collector of many things.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

She joins in Heaven her parents, Willis and Lois Hooper; husband, L. E. “Cush” Reeves; and brother, E. W. Hooper; and great-granddaughter, Carrigan Jolene Christensen.

Mrs. Reeves leaves behind her daughters, Ann Stillman and husband Ben, Nan Lomax and husband David; son, Bob Reeves and wife Peggy; grandchildren, Richard Lomax and wife Misty, Danny Christensen and wife Julia, Kimberly Owen and husband Jason, Dustin Lomax and wife Heather, Eric Christensen and wife Kayla, Collin Reeves and wife Morgan and Raygen Lomax; fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also left to remember the good times are a host of dear friends.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 29th day of September 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Melba Reeves are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 30th day of September 2021 at Our Acre Cemetery with Bro. Jack Smith, Jr. and Trey Comstock officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mrs. Reeves grandsons.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be directed towards a charity of one’s choice.
