Michael Edward “Gator” Pawlowski Obituary

Michael Edward Pawlowski, a cherished soul known for his kindness, humor, and passion, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Christus Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas.

Born January 21, 1970, in Houston, Texas, to Leonard Michael Pawlowski and Georgia Salibo Pawlowski, Michael's early years were filled with the warmth of a loving family.

A 1988 graduate of Klein Forest High School, Michael was known for his love of baseball and pitching.

Michael was known as "Gator" in the pool community. Michael's love for pool was well known, as he could often be found with a cue in hand, masterfully clearing tables, winning tournaments, and sharing laughs with friends and competitors alike in Houston and East Texas, especially in Palestine and Lufkin. His compassion extended beyond the felt of the pool table to all living creatures, especially his beloved dogs. Bella and Otto were constant companions, and he held cherished memories of Mimi and Spiri, his dogs in Heaven.

He was a Christian. He approached each day with a blend of kindness, humor, and passion that became his hallmark.

His home was filled with the melodies of old country music, a genre Michael adored for its storytelling and authenticity. His love for music was only matched by his ability to make people laugh. Michael's sense of humor was a light in the lives of many, and his laughter was a gift that he gave generously. Michael will be deeply missed, but the light he shone will continue to guide those he left behind.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Michael Pawlowski, and his brother, Kevin Pawlowski.

Michael is survived by his loving significant other, Cheril Vernon; his mother, Georgia Pawlowski; his daughter, Sarah Pawlowski; his sister, Lisa Pawlowski Bryan; his brother, Brian Pawlowski; his grandchildren, Damaceo and Amina, as well as nieces and nephews.

He also held a special place in his heart for Cheril’s grandchildren, Nevaeh, Addie, and Haziah.

The family will host a celebration of life service at 11a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Grapeland Baptist Church, 501 Augusta Rd. in Grapeland.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BARC, the Anderson County Humane Society at https://barctx.org/ or by mail at BARC, the Anderson County Humane Society, 335 Armory Rd., Palestine, TX 75801.
