Michael Wayne Moore

June 15, 1972 ~ January 3, 2021 (age 48)

Obituary

Michael Wayne Moore passed away peacefully from this earth and entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, the 3rd of January 2021, after a brave battle against coronavirus and other health complications.

A man with a larger than life presence who never met a stranger, Michael fully embraced his 48 years on earth and leaves behind a legacy of loving his neighbor as himself and loving his God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength.

Michael was born in Jacksonville, Texas  on the 15th day of June 1972, to parents Travis Moore and Ruth Ann Holt Moore. Michael received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and was a teacher by heart and profession. Michael’s passion was to teach and preach the Word.  To say Michael loved the Lord would be an understatement.  Michael lived as the Lord commands in Mark 12:30, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”  This is the passage that Michael centered his life around.  Michael was currently the pastor of New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cut and Shoot, Texas.  He also preached the gospel at various churches in Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi.  Michael will be greatly missed by many people in various states.

Michael leaves behind a multitude of loved ones including his wife of 22 years, Cheri Moore; parents, Travis and Ruth Moore of Keller; father-in-law, Charlie Dale Easterling and wife Janie; mother-in-law, Sandra Lou Black of Nacogdoches; son, Jonathan Moore; sisters, Angela Ray and husband Raymond of Lewisville, Kelli Saltzman and husband Brian of Keller; and other family and a host of friends.
