Michael and Mary Bell, both 57 of Slocum, Texas, stepped from this life into eternal rest together on Thursday, the 12th day of August 2021. Although they were taken from their family suddenly and tragically in an automobile accident, their family is comforted by the fact that they will never spend a moment apart, just as they lived their lives.
Michael Wayne Bell was born on the 14th day of May 1964, to parents David Bell and Lou Martin Bell in Houston, Texas.
Mary Lucille Bell was born on the 12th day of September 1963, to parents J.D. Parker and Edith Germany Parker in Palestine, Texas.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed the beauty of the great outdoors and spending time fishing and working on his land. Michael also found pleasure in riding his motorcycle and touring the countryside.
Mary lived an honorable life, full of love and service to others. She worked for TDCJ for many years as a Laundry Captain. She found absolute joy in spoiling her grandchildren and taking trips to the beach. Mary also enjoyed trips of riding the open roads on the motorcycle with her husband, Michael.
Michael and Mary were married on the 28th day of January 1984 and have been married for over 37 years. They were blessed with two children, whom they adored, Brandon Bell (Jennafer) and Brittani Bell. They later became proud grandparents to four grandchildren, Bentley Bell, Rhyder Bell, Bristol Bell, and Addison Yates, whom were the joy and light of their lives. They were both members of Denson Springs Baptist Church and devoted their lives to serving the Lord.
Michael was predeceased by his parents David and Lou Bell.
Mary was predeceased by her parents J.D. and Edith Parker; sister, Virginia Dillingham; and her brother, Terry Parker.
In addition to their children and grandchildren, Michael and Mary are survived by his siblings, Janet Ermel and husband Buzzy, Debra Lee and husband Donnie, Lorie Matthews, David Bell, Jr. and wife Carol; her brothers; J. D. Parker and wife Gail, Mike Parker and wife Laura, plus many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss them tremendously.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock until six o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 20th day of August 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the lives of Michael Bell and Mary Bell is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 21st day of August 2021, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel, where Bro. Jamie Hogan, Pastor of Denson Springs Baptist Church, is to officiate. Immediately following, Michael and Mary will be laid to rest on the family’s land, 6470 E. State Highway 294, in Elkhart, Texas.
