Mitchell Kent Brittain, age 67, of Palestine, Texas, passed on to his eternal home in Glory on Sunday, the 25th day of December 2022. Mr. Brittain was born on the 1st day of November 1955, in Sherman, Texas, to parents Maurice Brittain and Nora Zelenka Brittain.
Mr. Brittain served in the United States Navy upon graduating high school. He was a hard worker and provided for his family as a rig mover in the oilfield over thirty years. When he did retire, Mr. Brittain spent much of his time in the great outdoors, whether it was traveling the world or being at the lake, trotline catfishing. He had a larger-than-life personality. Mr. Brittain was a family man who loved telling tall stories. He holds a special place in many hearts and will never be forgotten.
Mr. Brittain is preceded in death by his father Maurice Brittain; daughter, Amanda Brittain; sister, Veda Walters, and his brother Bruce Brittain.
Mr. Brittain is survived by his mother, Nora Brittain; loving wife, Jodye Brittain; daughter, Norma Pemberton; sons, Chris Brittain and wife Robin, Maurice Brittain, Clint Blanchard Brittain, Dustin Eyman and wife Shayne, and Dillon Eyman and wife Heather; sister, Angela Puetz and fifteen grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Brittain is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 14th day of January 2023 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
