Monty Todd Obituary

Monty Keith Todd, of Palestine, Texas, and formerly of Benbrook, Texas, passed away peacefully on the 22nd day of June 2024, at Palestine Regional Medical Center. Born on the 6th day of December 1963, to parents Gary Todd and Linda Robertson, Monty's zest for life and indomitable spirit shone brightly for 60 years. His journey was marked by resilience, humor, and an unwavering faith that inspired all who knew him.

Monty was a proud graduate of Mineral Wells High School, where he distinguished himself as an exceptional athlete. His prowess on the baseball field was evident from his freshman year as he played varsity baseball, demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship. Monty's love for the game was a constant throughout his life, and he often reminisced about his days on the diamond with a twinkle in his eye.

At the age of 19, Monty's life took an unexpected turn when he was in an automobile accident. Yet, even in the face of adversity, Monty's funny personality never waned. He became known for his quick wit and his ability to bring laughter to any room. Monty channeled his energy into becoming an advocate for others with disabilities, offering support and encouragement to many in similar situations.

Before Monty's accident, his interests extended beyond the baseball field; he loved deer hunting, fishing, and was a consummate jokester. His loving personality was a beacon of joy for his friends and family. Monty's faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him with strength and comfort through the challenges he faced. He lived his faith-filled life as a testament to the power of belief and the grace of perseverance.

Those who knew Monty would describe him as loving, funny, and faithful. His legacy is one of courage, laughter, and love—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.  He leaves behind his father, Gary Todd and wife Jan, of Palestine, Texas; mother, Linda Taylor, of Benbrook, Texas; brother, Wesley Todd, of Benbrook, Texas; niece, Reagan Trainer and husband Carson; great-nieces, Parker Trainer and Palmer Trainer; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other family members and friends. Monty's journey on earth may have concluded, but the memories he created and the lives he impacted will endure forever.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Lois Robertson, and Herman and Cornelia Todd.

As we bid farewell to Monty Keith Todd, we celebrate a life lived with passion, humor, and an abundance of love. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man.
