Myrtice Collins Cobb, age 90, of Palestine, Texas, departed this life for her heavenly home on Monday, the 27th day of June 2022. Mrs. Cobb was born on the 2nd day of August 1931 to parents Harvey Collins and Laura Herod Collins.
Mrs. Cobb lived a long and fulfilling life. She was born and raised in Grapeland, Texas, graduated from Grapeland High School and Sam Houston State University. Mrs. Cobb worked at various hospitals throughout her career as a medical lab technician. Mrs. Cobb enjoyed helping others and was always generous to people in need. She was a member of the Church of Christ, where she developed a deep passion for worshiping and serving her Lord and Savior. She also taught Sunday School classes during the course of her life.
Mrs. Cobb was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family and grandchildren immensely and always enjoyed the times they were able to spend together. Mrs. Cobb was a talented seamstress and found pleasure in quilting and knitting. She enjoyed being a member of the Grapeland Garden Club and working in her own garden, which consisted of over 350 Daylilies. Mrs. Cobb was a sweet soul that was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
She joins in Heaven her parents Harvey and Laura Collins; husband, Terry Freeman Cobb; sons, Johnathan Freeman Cobb, and Michael Wayne Cobb; sisters-in-law, Aliene Collins and Bobbie Collins; and brothers, Wayne Collins and Wellburn Collins.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by her daughter, Lisa Annette Lambert and husband Mark of Grapeland, Texas; son, Thomas Edgar Cobb and wife Vickie of New Braunfels, Texas; brother, Harvey “Bulldog” Collins and wife Jan; and her grandchildren, Michael Lambert, Laura Graves and husband Chad, Natalie Preston and husband Kris, Sara and Grant Cobb, Linzi and Harrison Cobb, and Tia and Ethan Cobb. Mrs. Cobb is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Clara, Chloe, Penny, Sonny, Abby, Asher, Eden, Lawson, and Deacon, and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Cobb’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 9th day of July 2022 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating the service. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery where Mrs. Cobb will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Lambert, Grant Cobb, Harrison Cobb, David Cobb, Kris Preston, Chad Graves, Ethan Cobb, and Cory Kastner.
