Nancy Lynn Byrd, age 73, of Palestine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, the 20th day of August 2022. Mrs. Byrd was born in Palestine, Texas, on the 22nd day of June 1949, to parents Egbert Bishop and Freddie Thompson Bishop.
Mrs. Byrd was a loving wife and mother who found great joy in raising her family. She attended all her sons’ sporting events, even as they grew older and became coaches. She was their biggest fan and supporter and made sure to never miss a game. Once her grandchildren were born, a new love developed, and she absolutely delighted in the role as a grandmother.
Mrs. Byrd was a retired elementary school teacher. She taught for many years nurturing and molding the minds of young children. Most importantly, she was a faithful Christian and member of Southside Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas. Mrs. Byrd was a true blessing to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She joins in Heaven her father, Egbert Bishop, and her husband John “Johnny” Edward Byrd.
Mrs. Byrd will live in the hearts of her loving family including her mother, Freddie Bishop, of Slocum, Texas; sons, Aaron Byrd and wife Kari, of Lubbock, Texas, Adam Byrd and wife Michelle, of Atlanta, Texas, and Austin Byrd, of Del Valle, Texas; brothers, Charles Bishop and wife Barbara, Steve Bishop and wife Vozia, and Mark Bishop and wife Dana. Mrs. Byrd is also survived by her grandchildren, Cole Byrd, Logan Byrd, Aubrey Byrd, Jayden Collum, and Zane Byrd, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
