Nancy Lee (Martin) Owens

Nancy Lee Martin Owens, age 89, of Midlothian, Texas, and formerly of Grapeland, Texas, was carried into the presence of Jesus on Friday, September 22, 2023.  She was born in Crosby County, Texas on December 7, 1933, to Earl and Nora Stacker Martin.  She was married to Carol Owens of Grapeland in June 1952.  She worked at the Grapeland City Office for a number of years.  Then she worked at the Grapeland Post Office, retiring in 1996.  Nancy was a very active member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Carol Owens; two sisters, Eutavede Jones and Claudine Braziel; one grandchild Elizabeth Anne Owens; and one son-in-law Milton Fehrle.

She is survived by three sons: Carrol Wayne Owens of Grapeland; James Earl Owens and wife Lori of Ocala, Florida; Timothy Alan Owens and wife Brenda of Grapeland; one daughter Suzanne Bradley and husband David of Midlothian, Texas; 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held in the First Methodist Church Grapeland at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, with the funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Grapeland.

Pallbearers are grandsons Adam Owens and Nathaniel (Than) Owens, as well as grandsons-in-law Bradley Perrin, Dylan Mayfield, Matthew Parker, and Dalton Nolen.
