Billie James “Nick” Nixon, age 81, of Neches, went to be with our loving Lord and Savior on Friday, the 8th day of May 2020. He was born in Holland, Texas, on the 7th day of April 1939, to Clarence H. Nixon and Cecilia Richards Nixon.
Nick served in the United States Army and Air Force for eight years and retired from truck driving after 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Elkhart for over 50 years. Nick was an excellent mechanic, avid coin collector, and loved to tell jokes. He also enjoyed family beach trips and Whataburger.
Nick is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Cecilia Nixon and one brother, Herbert Carl Nixon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, June Nixon; daughters, Dawn Kay Derr of Athens, Melissa Davila and husband John of Huntsville; son, Billy Richards Nixon and wife Suzanne of Montana; grandchildren, Amber Renà Bunch, Nickolette Myranda Miller, Jake Davila, Kaysi Dawn Cox; and great-grandchildren, Leiken Bunch and Paxton James Miller.
A private graveside service to celebrate the life of Nick Nixon will be conducted at a later date.
Cremation services for Billie James Nixon are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
