Nicky Joe Moore

Nicky Joe Moore, age 82, of Grapeland, Texas, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, the 4th day of October 2021, at home. Nick was born on the 26th day of July 1939, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to parents Maurice Dale Moore and Rose Davis Moore.

Nick was a true hero serving over twenty-six years in the Navy.  During that time, he fought many battles in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the service, he was a Jack of all trades keeping himself busy working in various parts stores.  He also traveled many miles as a truck driver.  Nick was a Christian of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Amanda Hodge; son, James Hodge and wife Samantha; two other children; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi.  He is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Rose Moore, wife Janet Moore, son Thomas Hodge, and one brother.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date.

Cremation services for Nicky Joe Moore are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
