Nina Elizabeth (Weaver) Minton

Nina Elizabeth Minton, 83, of Palestine, Texas, passed away in her home surrounded by family on August 16, 2025.  She was born on January 13, 1942, in Hamilton, Texas.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lena Weaver, husband J.D. Minton, Jr., daughter Donna Knowles, and her sister Marcie Cox.

Mrs. Minton is survived by her children, J.D. Minton, III and wife Sandy, Margaret Banks and husband David, son-in-law Cooper Knowles, sister Mary Traylor and husband Jack, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Minton was a faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church, and she was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.  She loved playing Canasta with her friends, spending time with her little puppy and exercising her green thumb.

Funeral services to celebrate Nina Minton’s life are to be conducted at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Josh Dennis officiating the service.  Interment will follow in Neches Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Dustin Minton, Chad Minton, Bradley Minton, Brayden Minton, Evan Cannaday, and Jimmy Johnston.
