Pablo Alejandro Leandro-Black was born on January 20, 1999, in Palestine, Texas to Wency Leandro. On Thursday, November 23, 2023, he passed away in an automobile accident in Center, Texas. Alex, as he was lovingly known, had an amazing person that came into his life and took over the role of his dad, Mario Black, Sr. He also had an awesome stepdad, Nicholas Deshaun Cooper, who was a big part of his life.
Alex was a man of many talents and great character, known for his friendly, loving, and thoughtful demeanor. His outgoing personality was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Alex’s infectious smile and passion for life will forever be remembered.
Alex was a proud 2017 graduate of Westwood High School, where he not only excelled academically but also made a lasting impact through his charismatic personality. He carried his hard work and dedication into his professional life, where he was currently working for Tyson Foods.
Alex had a deep love for basketball. He not only enjoyed playing the sport but also loved watching games on television. He was a team player, both on and off the court, and his spirit of camaraderie will be fondly remembered. Music was another one of Alex's passions. He loved all genres of music and had an eclectic taste that ranged from rock to classical.
Above all, Alex’s love for his family was unparalleled. He was a loving father to his son, Elijah, whom he loved dearly and spoiled often. When you saw Alex, you saw his son. He also had two brothers, Mario Black, Jr., and Devin Black, both of whom he was very proud. He also had two sisters in his life Shandrika Potts and Shandria Potts, who he shared a lot of great conversations and memories throughout the years. Alex was a man who loved life and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Alex was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Marcos and Cecilia Munoz, grandpa Bud Tubbs, uncles LD Black and Edward Black, and his grandparents Leslie and Ida Crawford, and Mary Bass.
