Patricia Ann (Yost) Hudson

Patricia Ann (Yost) Hudson, age 74, passed away on Saturday August 9th, 2025, at her home in Palestine, Texas. Born on August 25th, 1950, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Mark Yost, Sr. and the late Carrie Viola (Bowman) Yost.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Hudson, and her two brothers, Harold E. Yost and Mark L. Yost, Jr.

Pat is survived by her daughter Ellie Windsor, her son-in-law Jeff, and their three children Joaquin, Bodhi, and August.

A standout athlete, Pat earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where she excelled in field hockey and earned her bachelor’s degree.

At one point, she was a legal assistant in the Anderson County District Attorney’s office.

Pat had a strong faith and was very active in her parish, St. Edward’s Catholic Church.  She served as a cantor and sang in the choir, being its director from 2000-2016.

She was also very active with the Catholic Council of Women for over 20 years, leading the women’s group at St. Edward’s and participating in many regional and national events.

Pat had an extraordinary passion and skill-set for crafting of all kinds, including creating a wide variety of Sock Monkeys and crocheting Nativity Sets. Many of these items were donated for fund raisers and were a cherished and memorable purchase for the buyers.

A Funeral Mass for Pat will be held Friday, November 7th starting at 11AM at St. Edward’s Catholic Church’s campus located at 1310 South Palestine Street, Athens, Texas 75751.  A celebration luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Edward’s building fund.
