Patricia "Pat" Ashworth Obituary

Patricia Jean Ashworth, age 71, of Grapeland, Texas, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully left this world surrounded by her family on Wednesday, the 13th day of May 2026. She was born on the 31st day of January 1955 in Amarillo, Texas to parents Harold Decker and Jackie Cox Decker.

Pat was a thoughtful, selfless, and creative woman whose life was centered on caring for others. She loved people deeply and often placed the needs of others before her own. She lived with a spirit of adventure. Among her many experiences, she completed 256 skydives, a remarkable reflection of her courage and zest for life.

Pat liked to play games on the computer, relax with a cup of coffee or Diet Dr. Pepper, and spend time reading. She was also an excellent cook, and her meals were made with the same care and love that she gave so freely to those around her. She especially loved her family, enjoyed talking, and had a gift for telling stories that could brighten any room.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Jackie Decker, and sons, Sheldon Dwayne and Brandon Hartzog.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ashworth; daughter, Kimberley Frost and husband Ronald; brother, Donald Decker; grandchildren, Morgan Reeves and husband Collin, Parker Hartzog, Kayla Schroeder and husband Cody, Peyton Hartzog, Ashley Brown, Josh Frost; and great-grandchildren, Kye Reeves, Brayleigh Reeves, and Grant Schroeder. These loved ones will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, along with the many moments of laughter, conversation, and comfort that Patricia brought into their lives.
