She leaves behind her sons, Jack Copeland and wife Barbara of Missouri, and Todd Copeland of Georgia; her brother, Rusty Sikes, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories; her grandchildren, Chris Copeland, Brian Copeland, Josh Copeland, and Misty Jimenez, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who were the sparkle in her eyes. Mrs. Copeland is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Ruth Sikes; husband, Bill Copeland; daughter-in-law, Kim Copeland; and her sister, Mary Penegar.
Mrs. Copeland was born and raised in Palestine, Texas on the 29th day of June 1933 to parents Jack Sikes and Patsy Ruth Burns Sikes. After graduating from Palestine High School, Mrs. Copeland dedicated her life to the cherished role of a housewife, finding her greatest joy in raising her family and caring for her beloved husband, Bill.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Copeland was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church of Palestine. Her commitment to service extended beyond the church walls as she volunteered alongside her husband at the Palestine Southside Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Mrs. Copeland's interests brought joy and camaraderie to her life. She loved to go antiquing, always on the lookout for unique treasures to add to her collection. Her passion for playing bridge was more than a pastime; it was a weekly gathering of friends and countless memories with her bridge club. Mrs. Copeland's journey on Earth has ended, but her story will be told for generations to come, and her memory will be cherished as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
