Rebecca "Becky" Ingram Obituary

Rebecca Ann Ingram, affectionately known as Becky, passed away at the age of 74 on October 26, 2024, due to complications from open heart surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. Born on July 10, 1950, in Jacksonville, Texas, Becky was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Her Godly spirit and generous heart made her a beloved figure in her community and beyond.

Becky was the cherished daughter of the late John and Frances Watts. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years, Sammy Ingram, and a loving mother to her children, Jodie Ingram Reed and Jonathan Ingram. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced the role of mother-in-law to Jeremy Barnett, John Reed, and Davi Ingram with the same love and warmth she gave to her own children. Becky's grandchildren—Isabel, Carter, Landon, Annabeth, and Jeremiah Barnett, and Violet, Carly, Sam, and Jovi Ingram—were the apples of her eye. She spent a lot of time with them and cherished every moment. She loved getting to know her bonus grandchildren- Ava, Wyatt and Jillian Reed.

Becky's siblings, Karen Allen, Asa Watts, Albert Watts and his wife Carol, Billie Jo Box, David Watts and his wife Judy, and Kathy Stevens and her husband Stanley, will remember her as the sister who always led with love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her sister, Aurelia Daniel, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

An alumna of Oakwood High School, Becky carried the lessons of her youth throughout her life, embodying the values of integrity, kindness and serving the Lord. The daughter of an evangelical preacher, she often got to share the good news of the Lord around various places. Her passion for music and worshipping the Lord was evident to all who heard her play the piano, a God given talent she honed with grace and dedication. Becky's love for baking was only matched by the love she poured into every recipe, creating not just delicious cakes, but also warm memories that her family and friends will treasure forever. She cherished friendships made through church and her time working at Dr. Gold's office.

As a grandmother, Becky's joy was multiplied with every new addition to the family. She was a constant presence in her grandchildren's lives, offering unwavering support and boundless affection. Each grandchild knew they had a special place in her heart, and her legacy of love will live on through them.

Becky's spirit was characterized by her generosity. Whether it was her time, her talents, or her resources, she gave freely and without expectation of return. Her loving nature extended beyond her family to her friends and community, where she was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Becky will remember her as a God loving woman of strong faith, generous, and kind—a woman whose presence could brighten the darkest of days. Her laughter was infectious, her smile could light up a room, and her kindness knew no bounds. Her love for the Lord shined through in everything she did - whether it was playing worship music on the piano or just hanging out with family.

Becky Ingram's life was a testament to the power of God's love for all of us and the beauty of a life well-lived. As we say goodbye to Becky, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her memory will be a treasure that we carry with us always, a reminder of the joy and love that she shared so freely with the world. Becky's life was a beautiful melody that will resonate in the hearts of those who loved her, a tune that will never be forgotten.
