He was born in Salinas, California, on the 27th day of October 1954, to parents, Walter Donald Wright and Peggy Jean Edwards Wright. Grandpa lived a life dedicated to the Lord and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of service.
Grandpa held a special place in many hearts in the Grapeland Community. He loved to spend time with his family and always made everyone feel loved, family or not. Grandpa was very involved with his grandchildren and was a part of every sports team in which they participated. On numerous occasions, Grandpa, brought smiles to many faces of the kids when he would provide snacks to everyone on the team. Grandpa was most notably known for his cooking. If you sat down at his kitchen table, he would hand you a menu and tell you to pick anything you want. Then he would prepare your food as ordered. He had a genuine love for taking care of others and a special place in our hearts will be forever his.
