Robert "Bobby" Baird Obituary

Robert "Bobby" James Baird, of Tennessee Colony, Texas, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, the 15th day of October 2024, at the age of 83. Born on the 21st day of March 1941, in Houston, Texas, to parents Spencer James Baird and Althea Schmidt, Bobby's life was a testament to love, wisdom, and the kind of practical skill that could only be described as handiness.

Bobby's journey began in the vibrant city of Houston, where he grew into a man of many talents. After dedicating over 30 years of service to Halliburton, where he spent several years working offshore, he retired to enjoy the simpler pleasures in life. His hands, always ready for work, were skilled in the arts of welding, woodworking, and metal fabrication, skills that he used to bring his brilliant ideas to life. Bobby's love for fishing was only surpassed by the joy he found in working on his farm, where he spent countless hours nurturing the land and tending to his projects.

In his years of retirement, Bobby found pleasure in traveling, always seeking new experiences and creating unforgettable memories with his family. The time spent with his loved ones was precious, filled with laughter, stories, and the creation of bonds that would withstand the test of time.

Bobby always made time for what mattered most—his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Pat Baird, who stood by his side as a pillar of love and support throughout their years together. His legacy continues through his children, Cody Baird and wife Kelley of Dale, Texas; Brady Baird and wife Amy of Florida; James Mangham and wife Holly of Palestine, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Tina Teetz of Elkhart, Texas. Bobby's spirit will live on in the stories and memories shared by his twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather deeply. Bobby's familial warmth extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of his sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Each person whose life he touched can attest to the kindness and wisdom he generously shared. His presence was a comfort, his advice sought after, and his laughter a remedy to any ailment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Althea Baird; wife, Beth Baird; and son, Thomas Teetz.
