Ronnie Eugene Bynum, Sr.

Ronnie Eugene Bynum, Sr., age 71, of Teague, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 25, 2026, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on July 7, 1954, in Palestine, Texas, to John Bynum and Thelma Jean Hill, Ronnie lived a life that was devoted to hard work, mom's cooking, and family.   

Ronnie dedicated 37 years of his life to the oilfield as a driller, a career that showcased his strong work ethic and resilience. He was a member of the Cowboy Heritage Church in Teague, Texas. Ronnie’s passion for the outdoors was fulfilled through his many trips to Branson, where he enjoyed the beauty of Table Rock Lake and the excitement of riding the duck boats with his wife. He also enjoyed making picnic tables. Most importantly he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Thelma Bynum; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billie Joe and Evelyn Bain; infant son, Troy Bynum; sister, Janie “Sissy” Allen; and brothers, Wade Walker and Rodney Walker.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carole Bynum; his sons, Michael Bynum, Ronnie “Turkey” Bynum, Jr. and girlfriend Vicki, Walter Keith Bynum and wife Tiffany, Rickey Goodson, Jr., Brad Goodson and wife Danyell, and Derek Goodson and wife Emily. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Ronnie E. Bynum III, Adyson Goodson, Lexi Goodson, Makayla Bynum, Luke Goodson, Destiny Bynum, and three great grandchildren.       

Ronnie’s wishes were to be cremated with services at a later date.
