Sandra Anne (Deem) Pell

On Monday, the 4th day of April 2022, Sandra Anne Pell, of Palestine, Texas, departed to her eternal home in Heaven.  She was 71 years of age when the Lord called her home. Mrs. Pell was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on the 26th day of March 1951 to parents Reginald E. Deem and Ethel Virginia Williams Deem.

Mrs. Pell was a wife, mother, Gigi, and a retired history teacher.  She taught at Palestine and Westwood school districts for many years helping to mold young students into successful adults. Mrs. Pell also previously owned and operated MR & MS Tree Farm and Sweet Dreams Winery, with her husband, Mike.  During that time, she won 42 medals at numerous wine competitions. 

Mrs. Pell was a talented musician, playing the piano at Bassett Road Baptist Church.  She had a passion for flowers, gardening, traveling and was able to journey to many places throughout her life.  Her granddaughter, Erin, captured her heart when she was born, and from that moment she spent much of her time spoiling her and making memories together.   

Mrs. Pell joined in Heaven her parents Reginald and Virginia Deem, husband David Vance, and her brother, Phillip Deem.

Mrs. Pell was loved by many and will be missed by her husband of 27 years, Mike Pell; daughters, Alyson White and husband Thomas of Houston, and Mandara Vance and husband Larry Woodall of Palestine; brothers, Bill Deem and Paul Deem; and granddaughter, Erin White.  She also leaves behind numerous nephews, other family members, friends, and former students.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Mrs. Pell is to be conducted at half past three o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 9th day of April 2022 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
