Sharon Kay Linder of Montalba, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 82 in Palestine, Texas. Born on January 20, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Johnny Cole Perrett and Gerelda McCord Perrett, Sharon lived a life full of passion, creativity, and love that touched everyone who knew her.
In high school, Sharon met the love of her life, Wade Linder, and the two married on May 7, 1960. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, traveling the world, and raising their two children. Sharon later enjoyed a successful career as a loan officer in the banking industry, where her sharp mind, warm personality, and engaging anecdotes made her well-loved by colleagues and clients alike.
Sharon’s interests were as diverse as her talents. A gifted seamstress and tailor, she created beautiful garments for herself and her family. She also had a passion for crocheting and knitting, favoring complex and intricate patterns that showcased her creativity and skill. Her hobbies weren’t merely pastimes—they were heartfelt expressions of love. An avid reader, Sharon delighted in stories that took her on endless adventures and brought her new knowledge. She also loved playing cards, earning her reputation as a competitive and lively card shark who made every game night unforgettable.
Her enthusiasm extended to many aspects of her life, from her meticulous yard work, where she found peace and satisfaction in nurturing nature’s beauty, to her remarkable knack for embracing technology. Always eager to learn, Sharon’s tech-savvy nature reflected her curiosity and adaptability.
Sharon’s legacy is one of love, wit, and an unwavering dedication to the people and passions that enriched her life. She will be remembered for her humor, her captivating stories, and the wholehearted way she embraced every moment. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family and friends as a shining example of a life well-lived.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Eliphas “Wade” Linder; her daughter, Kimberly Falk and her husband Greg of Montalba, Texas; her son, Kelly Linder and his wife Karen of Temple, Texas; and her brother, Connie Perrett of Keller, Texas. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Ross Falk and Jonathan Murphy of Austin, Texas; Aaron Falk and Gio of Godley, Texas; and Kelly Desiree. Sharon’s memory will also be treasured by numerous friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Gerelda Perrett, and her brother, Ronnie Perrett.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Rhone Memorial Chapel, with her grandson Ross Falk officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee Colony Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Pallbearers honoring Sharon’s life will be Ross Falk, Aaron Falk, Jonathan Murphy, Greg Falk, Mike Wendel, and Steven Spiller.
