Shirley Ann (Owens) Goolsby

Shirley Ann Goolsby, age 86, of Grapeland, Texas, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, the 15th day of May 2022.  Mrs. Goolsby was born on the 17th day of June 1935, to parents Archiebell “Dick” Owens and Bessie Brimberry.

Mrs. Goolsby was born and raised in Grapeland, Texas, a community that she dearly loved.  She was always active around town and in church.  Mrs. Goolsby taught Sunday School and led singing at various churches she attended.  Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, and playing dominoes with friends.  She loved her chocolate shakes!  Mrs. Goolsby was a loving lady that will be dearly missed but always be remembered.   

Mrs. Goolsby is preceded in death by her parents Dick and Bessie Owens; husband, Donald Goolsby; son, Chad Goolsby; sister, Elouise Brunson; and brother, Fred Owens.

Left to cherish Mrs. Goolsby’s memory are her daughters, Donna Bilsborough and husband Chris, and Mona Granberry and husband Randy; son, Allen Gail and wife Carol Goolsby; daughter-in-law, Elana Cooper Goolsby; sister, Nell Roy; and grandchildren, Memory Faurot, Clint Flores, Justin Flores, Josh Goolsby, Jennifer Hamilton, Jeremy Goolsby, Bobbie Jo Woody, Starla Luce, Dana Goolsby, Jessica Bridges, and Julie Rhone.  Mrs. Goolsby is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor Mrs. Goolsby’s life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 19th day of May 2022, at Felder’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Grapeland, Texas, with Bro. Randy Shipman and Bro. Billy Jackson officiating.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Felder’s Chapel Assembly of God Church.
