Shirley Ann Brewer Obituary

Shirley Ann Brewer, age 92, passed away peacefully on the 13th day of May 2024, at Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on the 18th day of March 1932, in the same quaint town of Palestine, she was a lifelong resident and a cherished member of the community.

Mrs. Brewer was the beloved daughter of Clayton Lowe and Doris Wilson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also greeted in heaven by her devoted husband, Kenneth Brewer; her daughter, Leigh Ann Villarreal; her son, Daniel Brewer; her sisters, Dorothy Lowe, and Mildred Holmes; and her brothers, Edwin Lowe, Glenn Lowe, and LeRoy Lowe.

Her warm spirit and enduring love live on through her son-in-law, John Villarreal and wife Rebecca; daughter-in-law, Lisa Brewer; sister, Virginia Stanaland and husband Cecil; brother, Doug Lowe and wife Kayeann. She was the proud grandmother of Joseph Brewer, Lindsey Parker, Madison Grace Villarreal, and Johnathan Ford Villarreal, and the overjoyed great-grandmother of William Daniel Parker, and Samuel Evan Parker. Additionally, Mrs. Brewer's legacy extends to numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members including her beloved family in Maryland, and a host of friends, all of whom she adored.

Mrs. Brewer's life was a testament to her enduring faith and community spirit. A longtime member of Palestine Church of Christ, she held her church family close to her heart. She was a woman whose life was a reflection of her values—kindness, love, and wisdom were the cornerstones upon which she built her existence and touched the lives of those around her.

In her younger years, Mrs. Brewer had a passion for garage sales and painting, a hobby that brought her great joy and allowed her to express her creative spirit. Those who were fortunate to know her will remember her as a great cook, whose dishes were not only a treat to the taste buds but were also made with love and care. Mrs. Brewer's concern for others' well-being was genuine and heartfelt, and her giving heart knew no bounds. She found great joy in the simple act of giving, whether it was her time, her cooking, or a listening ear. Mrs. Brewer set an example of how to live with grace and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
