Sue Grubbs Obituary

Peggy Sue Grubbs, of Tennessee Colony, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 18th day of April 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 96 years old when she left this earth for her heavenly home. “Sue” as she was affectionately known, was born in Jean, Texas, on the 11th day of July 1927 to parents Cecil “Buster” Williams and Willie Stroud Williams. Mrs. Grubbs was a steadfast member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ for many years, where she formed lasting friendships and served her community with grace and dedication. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Mrs. Grubbs’ marriage to her beloved husband, Lee Roy, was a beautiful partnership filled with mutual respect and adoration. Lee Roy cherished Mrs. Grubbs, treating her like a queen throughout their wonderful life together. Their love was an example to all who knew them, demonstrating the beauty of commitment and the joy of shared experiences.

An avid player of cards and dominoes, Mrs. Grubbs had a particular fondness for the games "42" and "Wahoo," which brought her immense joy and provided countless hours of entertainment for her and her loved ones. Her competitive spirit was always accompanied by a warm smile and a hearty laugh, making every game night a cherished memory. Mrs. Grubbs also significantly enjoyed taking adventurous trips with her friend, Jane, where they made lasting memories.

Family was the center of Mrs. Grubbs world. She was very family-oriented, pouring her love into every interaction and embracing each moment with her relatives. Her exceptional talent for making pies was only matched by her skill in knitting blankets, both of which were treasured by her family and friends. These handcrafted gifts were not just items of comfort but symbols of her deep affection and care. Her love for others was also displayed in her involvement in the community where she volunteered at the local hospital and stockpot.

To know Mrs. Grubbs was to know the embodiment of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family, steadfast faith, and a life filled with joyous moments. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in the hearts of those she touched.

As we bid farewell to Mrs. Grubbs, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the world simply by being a part of it. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light to all who loved her including her daughter, Pam Gallaway, of Tennessee Colony, Texas; son, Roy Grubbs and wife Pam, of Porter, Texas; grandchildren, David Grubbs and wife Bobbie, Shawn Grubbs and wife Marsha, Jennifer LaCombe, Jamie Molis and husband Jason, and Joseph Pruett.  She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Serina, Seclie, Toriann, Tyler, Carlie, Olivia, Sydney, and Jackson; along with four great-great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Buster and Willie Williams; husband, Lee Roy Grubbs; brother, Claude Williams; and sister-in-law, Robbie Williams.
