On Wednesday, the 25th day of August 2021, the Lord called Terrilyn Jo Starkey, of Tennessee Colony, home. She passed away at Palestine Regional Medical Center at the age of 69. Mrs. Starkey was born on the 3rd day of October 1951, in Palestine, Texas, to parents Terrell Traweek and Celestine Earle Traweek.
Mrs. Starkey was a sweet, genuine lady with an irresistible personality and a beautiful smile. She could light up the room with just her presence. Mrs. Starkey was a giving woman who would do anything for her family and friends and was loved by everyone. Her passion was for animals which led to her ownership of the Dogwood Country Shih Tzus, where she bred dogs and gave advice for other Shih Tzu owners. Mrs. Starkey was a Methodist and is now in the company of her loving Lord until the day we can join her in Heaven.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Mike Starkey; daughters, Stacey Lynne Starkey-Leslie and husband Eugene, and Stephanie Anne Knoblauch and husband Chuck, all of Houston; sister, Bobbie Shafer of Troup; sister-in-law, Nelda West; brother-in-law, Jerry West; grandchildren, Cayden Hebert, Blake Hebert, Isabella Leslie, and Charliegh Knoblauch. Mrs. Starkey is also survived by her nieces, Sandra West, Connie Congleton, Kim Fields, Kelly Waterhouse, and nephew, Carrey Waterhouse.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Saturday, the 28th day of August 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
Graveside services to celebrate Mrs. Starkey’s life are to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 29th day of August 2021 at Centerville Cemetery in Centerville, Texas. Ben Rhone will be officiating the service.
