Terry Mark Scott, age76, of Palestine, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, the 11th day of July 2023. Mr. Scott was born on the 8th day of April 1947 to parents George W. Scott and Susan M. Scott.
Born in Fort Frances, Canada, Mr. Scott was a true patriot, moving to the United States with his family in 1948. He quickly embraced his new homeland, displaying an unwavering dedication to his community and country. This loyalty was exemplified in his service to the nation, as he bravely served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His courage and commitment were not only evident on the battlefield but also in his everyday life.
After his military service, Mr. Scott embarked on a new venture, establishing his own business, Robbers Roost Jerky Incorporated. As the owner of the meat company, he combined his entrepreneurial spirit with his passion for quality food. His company was more than just a business to him; it was a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing the best for his customers.
He was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Mr. Scott had a warm and welcoming personality. His friendly demeanor and gentle nature made him a joy to be around, and he effortlessly touched the lives of many. His life serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us that a life well lived is one full of love, friendship, and service to others. Mr. Scott will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Susie Scott; in-laws, Bob and Laveta Thomas; son, T.J. Scott; and his brothers, Dale Scott, Walter Scott, and George Scott.
Left behind to cherish the memories that were made are his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela Thomas Scott; daughter, Crystal Spicer and husband Gary; twin sisters, Carol Gould and husband Tom Wait, and Karen Rowe and husband Richard; sisters, Ella Scott, and Becky Montgomery and husband Ron; grandchildren, Haylee Spicer, Krista Spicer, and Joshua Spicer. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
A funeral service and celebration of Terry’s life is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 16th day of July 2023, at First Baptist Church in Palestine. Bro. Tony Watson will officiate the service.
Mr. Scott will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of service at First Baptist Church.
