Thomas Milford Jones, Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as Tom, passed away on Tuesday, the 10th day of December 2024, at the age of 63. Born on the 29th day of January 1961, in Rosenburg, Texas, Tom was the cherished son of Thomas M. Jones and Eloise Meador. His warm smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tom dedicated several years of his life to the Elmwood Volunteer Fire Department, where his unwavering commitment to service and community shone brightly. He was a man who believed in giving back, and his work with the fire department was a testament to his selfless nature and his desire to make a difference in the lives of those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies for him; they were a way of life, a means to connect with the earth and its beauty. His respect for nature was matched only by his love for his grandchildren, who were the center of his universe. Tom's greatest pleasure was spending time with them, whether he was sharing his passion for the outdoors or simply being present in their lives, celebrating each milestone with pride and joy.
To say that Tom never met a stranger would be an understatement. His friendly demeanor and kind spirit made him a beloved figure in his community. His ability to make friends wherever he went was a gift, and his presence was a comfort to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Tom's dog, a loyal companion, was a constant by his side, reflecting the love and care that Tom extended to all living creatures.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Eloise Jones.
Tom's legacy is carried on by his cherished family: his proud sons, Thomas Jones, III, and his wife, Ashley, as well as Austin Jones; his devoted daughter, Brittany Nail, and her husband, Rusty; his loving sister, Diane Ferguson; and his adored grandchildren, Haven Nail, Dylan Nail, Grace Kucera, Jacob Kucera, Corbin Jones, Sawyer Jones, Kohen Jones, and Emaree Jones. Each of them was a sparkling gem in the treasure trove of his life, which he guarded and cherished with all his heart.
