Tom Royal Lipscomb

Thomas “Tom” Lipscomb, age 75, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, the 9th day of March, 2018.  Tom was born in Elkhart, Texas on the 4th day of April, 1942 to Eckard Samuel Lipscomb and Lucille Marsh Lipscomb.  He worked for Knox Glass Plant and retired from Vulcraft.  Tom loved the outdoors.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed working with wood in his shop and when he was young, Tom loved to grow a garden.  Tom was a member of Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church and will be missed by many.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Eckard and Lucille Lipscomb; brothers, Richard Lipscomb and Samuel Lipscomb.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Grimsley Lipscomb of Elkhart, Texas; daughter, Tina White and husband Byron of Elkhart, Texas; sons, Thomas Lamar Lipscomb of Elkhart, Texas, Keith Eric Lipscomb and wife Debbie of Conroe, Texas; sister, Ardell Turner of Katy, Texas; 8 grandchildren;  7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Cremation services for Thomas Lipscomb are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
