Una Marie Whitley, a lifelong resident of Anderson County, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, the 7th day of February 2025, at the age of 99. Una was born on the 16th day of August 1925 in Elkhart, Texas, to parents John “Bud” Whitley and Mittie Brooks Whitley.
Graveside services to honor the life of Una Whitley will commence at 2:30p.m. on Thursday, the 13th day of February 2025 at Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Rev. Lynn Willhite will be officiating the service.
Lovingly known as “NooNoo”, Una was a graduate of Elkhart High School and Nixon Business College. She retired from the Anderson County Clerk’s office after a long career. Amongst Una’s greatest joys in life was traveling. Una was able to travel the world and the only states in America that she was not able to cross off her bucket list were Washington and Oregon. One of Una’s most treasured memories was traveling with her family to see Whitley Bay on the North Sea in England. She additionally extensively traveled throughout Switzerland.
Una is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers John, Earl, Carl, and Billie, and her sisters Mae, Faye, and Hattie. Una was the last surviving sibling.
She is survived by her caregivers Mike and Renee Whitley, Lana and Scott Delk, Lauren Gregory, Daniel, Leighton, and Laci Hickman, Gage, Lexa, and Marcia Whites. Una is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her friend Glenda Starr for always being there when needed. Also, special thanks to her hospice nurses Larami Quick and Candace Cutler, and to TruCare Living Centers for taking excellent care of Una.
