William Anthony Everett, known affectionately as Tony to all who knew him, lived a life that was a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Born on March 16, 1939, in Killeen, Texas, Tony’s journey through life was one of passion, dedication, and boundless enthusiasm. On August 10, 2024, Tony passed away peacefully in Grapeland, Texas, surrounded by the natural beauty he cherished, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service.
Tony was a man whose heart was as open as the Texas sky he grew up under. Married for 66 years to his beloved wife, Joan G. Everett, they raised a family that was the very picture of unity and affection, with their son Richard E. Everett, daughter Wendy L. Hines, daughter-in-law Davera D. Everett. Tony had 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren standing as living testaments to Tony and Joan’s commitment to each other and their family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Toni G. Everett, parents William Adron Everett and Jim O Lean Everett. He had 3 siblings Eileen Sheeran “deceased” John R. Everett and Peggy L Ferguson.
Professionally, Tony was a pioneer in the graphic art industry. His ability to see the world through an artist's lens allowed him to develop techniques that pushed the boundaries of what was possible. As a highly sought-after artist, Tony’s work not only captivated his clients but also inspired a generation of those who followed in his footsteps. Yet, his talents didn’t end there. Tony was also a masterful woodworker and carver, channeling his artistic vision into the tactile realm and creating pieces that were both functional and aesthetically remarkable.
Tony's dedication to hard work was unparalleled. He loved a challenge and always approached it with the mindset that he would not only overcome it but also emerge stronger and wiser. His family often marveled at how he never uttered the word "can't" and how the concept of quitting was foreign to him. This tenacity was also evident in his service to his country. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Tony wore his service on his sleeve—quite literally. His navy shirts and hats were worn with pride, and he would never squander an opportunity to engage with those who would thank him for his service.
In times of need, Tony was the rock to which his friends and family could cling. His generosity knew no bounds, and his readiness to lend a hand was as reliable as the sunrise. His actions embodied the very essence of the words thoughtful, generous, and faith filled. Tony lived a life that inspired those around him to strive for greater heights and to face life's adversities with grace and courage. He would often say” Every situation needs a hero”.
Tony’s departure from this world leaves behind a silence where once the laughter and stories of a man larger than life filled the air. Yet, even in this silence, his influence echoes. He was adored by all who knew him, and the void his passing has left will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and the community that was fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence.
Today, let us not dwell on the sorrow of Tony's absence but rather celebrate the extraordinary life he lived. Let us carry forward the lessons he imparted through his actions and the way he treated each individual with respect and kindness. Tony's legacy is one of unwavering optimism, boundless creativity, and an enduring belief in the power of the lord, hard work and perseverance.
