Zachary Robert Prive, age 36, of Athens, Texas, passed away on the 6th day of May 2025, at U.T. Health in Athens, Texas, far from his birthplace of Boston, Massachusetts, where he first saw the world on the 21st day of September 1988. He was born to parents Robert Prive and Deborah Finney Prive. “Zach” as he was affectionately known by his friends and loved ones, was working as a skilled carpenter with Lebeau and Associates, Inc. Zach's interests were as vibrant as his personality. An avid outdoorsman, he relished every opportunity to be in nature, whether fishing in the quiet early morning hours or shooting guns with friends. His love for sports was undeniable, with a loyalty to the Patriots and the Red Sox that was as steadfast as his commitment to his loved ones.
Those who knew Zach will remember him for the love he had for his dogs, his family, and the simple joys in life. He was the kind of man who could find happiness in the everyday, a quality that drew people to him and made them feel at home in his presence. Zach's passion for life was compelling, and his friendly demeanor and kind heart made him a beloved friend in both Boston and Texas, the two places he called home.
Zach will be deeply missed and remembered always for the light he brought into the world. He leaves behind his wife, Sarah Mayne; father, Robert Prive; daughters, Megan and Roselynne; son, Brady; and his sister, Alison Mazzilli. Zach is preceded in death by his mother Deborah Prive.
