Diego "Polytropos" Rodriguez

Diego “Polytropos” Rodriguez was born on the 24th day of December, 1990 in San Diego, California to Martin Rodriguez and Blanca E. Rodriguez. Diego walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, the 4th day of February, 2018 at the age of 27. He was an avid lover of sports and during his young life he enjoyed playing soccer. After graduating high school, Diego went to Trinity Valley Community College and then to Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Diego became a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. in the Fall of 2012.  He was the captain of his line and given the name “Polytropos” for his ability to adapt and overcome much like one of history’s greatest Captains, Odysseus, from which the name derives.  Diego wanted to dedicate his life to helping troubled teens and leading them in the right direction. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Diego was a kind young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother and friend.

Diego is survived by his parents, Martin and Blanca Rodriguez of Palestine; sisters, Ruth Rodriguez and Blanca C. Rodriguez; brother, Josue M. Rodriguez; girlfriend, Angelica Ramirez; nieces and nephews, Vanessa Rodriguez, Josue A. Rodriguez, Emiliano Rodriguez, Karen Rodriguez, Samantha Rodriguez, Yazmin Zamarripa and Javier Zamarripa.

Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Diego’s life during visitation to be held from 9:00a.m. until 8:00p.m. on Thursday, the 8th day of February in the Rhone Memorial Chapel of Rhone Funeral Home.

A Rosary and Celebration of his life will be conducted at 6:00p.m. on Thursday, the 8th day of February in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.

Diego will be laid to rest in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi-Mexico at a later date.
